Many of today’s subwoofers fall into one of two categories: the smaller ultra-compact high-output category or the larger high-performance extended-response category. These two design types tend to offer different performance benefits, the ultra compact having the ability to play extremely loud, but over a narrower bandwidth and the large subs having this high output plus more extended response.
GoldenEar's engineering team set out to accomplish the best of both worlds with the ForceField subwoofers: small size, yet with the smooth & wide response of a larger sub. There’s no sleight of hand, just great engineering. All ForceField subwoofers share the same technologies:
- GoldenEar BRX model-inspired curved (extended-surface) top panel better minimizes cabinet resonances.
- Increased wall thickness prevents absorbing and smearing important bass transient information and impact
- Perforated-metal grille affords improved sonic transparency and airflow
- Gorgeous and subtle Satin-Black finish
- GoldenEar SuperSub-inspired electronics with Analog
- Devices DSP affords flatter, more extended frequency response for cleaner, deeper bass with lower distortion
- MOSFET output stage and improved implementation result in greater power transfer efficiency
- Necessary subwoofer Level and Low-Pass filter controls allow easy optimization for home theaters, hi-fi setups, and living environments
- Superior transient performance for natural detail
- Computer-optimized ultra-stiff fiber cone
- Massive high-gauss magnet assembly
