DataComm & Electrical Fiber Optic Workshop: Understanding High Bandwidth Infrastructure

Event Information

This Training Qualifies for 1 CEU & 2 CEC Credits: CEDIA CEU Course Code: CEU867 |CEU BICSI CEC Course Code: OV-TECHL-WI-0320-1 | Fiber has become a necessary part of low-voltage installations thanks to 4K HDR, 8K and ever-increasing network bandwidths. While most designers and installers are new to fiber, we want to show you that integrating fiber isn't that hard. This training will explain why fiber is necessary, where fiber is being deployed, what components are part of the fiber ecosystem, and how to integrate a fiber optic infrastructure. We'll go over: understanding & selecting fiber types, fiber constructions, and fiber connectors; typical fiber optic applications; designing a fiber optic system; calculating loss budget, power budget, and overall link budget; troubleshooting a fiber optic cable; and fiber optic termination.
